About Us

Escambia County Fire Rescue Engine 1419 (Pleasant Grove) was originally staffed by career personnel in February of 2000. This first crew covered the district during the hours of 7am to 4pm on Monday through Friday. They maintained this coverage until July of 2001, when the crew was relocated to Station 8 (Innerarity Point) to provide more adequate coverage to the west end of Escambia County. A daytime crew was again placed at Station 14 beginning in approximately April of 2005 to fill a gap in coverage in the southwest portion of the county during daytime hours.

Beginning on May 25, 2008, Station 14 will transition to a 24 hour-a-day manned station. Career personnel will man Engine 1419 and Hazmat 14 on an around-the-clock schedule, increasing the level of service provided to the citizens of Escambia County. By staffing Engine 1419, this fills in a gap in coverage between Perdido Key (Station 19) and Osceola (Station 12). In addition, this puts Hazmat Technicians on duty around-the-clock as well, providing an immediate response to Hazardous Materials incidents in Escambia County. (For more details on our Hazmat Team, visit the Hazmat Team Homepage.)
