Escambia County Professional Firefighters L#4131 is very active

site. On August 20th, 2005, Local #4131 raised approximately
$4000.Thank you for your support!
The following is a list of activities our Local has participated in during recent years:
On October 13, 2005, Local #4131 presented a check to the Ronald
McDonald House in Pensacola, FL. The check was for $2100 and is
money raised by the sales of the Florida Salutes Firefighters
tag. All proceeds from the sale of the tag is returned to the
FPF Local serving that area for donation to the charity of the
Local's choice.
In coordination with Milton Professional Firefighters and Pensacola
Professional Firefighters raised almost $40,000 to benefit firefighters
and their families in the areas struck by Hurricane Katrina. In
addition, Local #4131 also secured space for staging of items
donated through the IAFF and FPF for use in the Hurricane stricken
areas, and coordinated a drive to collect items from Locals throughout
Northwest Florida. Local #4131 sent almost $15,000 in cash to
Biloxi Local #1583 to assist their members who suffered losses
during Hurricane Katrina. In addition, large amounts of donated
items were taken and provided to the members of Local #1583.
During the MDA "Fill the Boot" 2005 campaign, Local
#4131 raised $4000 in one weekend of fundraising.
August 2005 was proclaimed as Escambia County Professional Firefighters
month by the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners at
their meeting on August 4, 2005.
In coordination with the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce,
provided $100 each to three local youths who went above and beyond
to assist a gentleman stranded in Perdido Bay in 65 degree water.
Without the efforts of these three youths, the gentleman may not
have fared as well.
All career engine companies and shifts participated in assisting
underprivileged families in our area with providing Christmas
gifts for these families in need.
Participated in the Pensacola Christmas Parade and handed out
fire prevention materials to parade observers.
Assisted 5 Brothers from our Local who sustained losses during
the recent strike of Hurricane Ivan to our area.
Participated in annual MDA Boot Drive, raising $8000 for the
MDA in 2004.
Held Escambia County Professional Firefighter's Night
at Pelican Park (home of our local baseball team) to promote our
local.
Participated in our local Krewe of Lafayette Parade to bring
recognition of our Local to the public we serve.
Donated $300 from our Burn Fund to a gentleman who sustained
burns from a kitchen fire in Molino.
Donated $500 from our Burn Fund to the family of a burn victim
in Molino.
Donated $500 from our Burn Fund to a local youth who was rescued
by Engine 319 "B" Watch after his house caught fire.
Raised well over $2500 for the MDA during our 2003 Boot Drive.
Participated in the Cerebal Palsy "Casual Day" fund drive.
Created the Escambia County Professional Firefighters Burn
Fund, a burn fund to assist victims injured by fire.
Participated in the 2002 Gulf Coast Arts Festival.
Started to raise and continue to increase funds for a Juvenile
Fire Setter Program to reduce fires intentionally started by children.
Paid the fare for a taxicab ride to transport an enderly worman
form Fairhope, AL after she was stranded following a motor vehicle
collision in our area.
Donated food items to the Manna Food Bank during their Christmas
2002 Food Drive.
Held two car washes to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma
Society.
Sponsored nine families during the 2001 "Angel Tree" Christmas
drive to assist needy families during the holiday.
